The 7-seat SUV 462 hp has power and plenty of standard equipment.
After the concept design, the BMW X7 has finally been officially introduced with its production-ready body. The 7-seat premium SUV will be available in the Spartanburg plant in the United States and will be available in March 2019 with the G20-coded new series.
The X7, which is more dominant than the Bavarian brand’s other SUVs and carries a large face, attracts attention with its huge “kidney grille” and slim LED headlights. When we look at the profile, we see that the rear door is designed wider than the front door for easier access to the second and third row seats.
The X7, which will be exported from the United States to the world, will initially be sold with two engine options. The X7 xDrive40i will produce 340 hp, 447 Nm of torque from a turbocharged, six-cylinder 3.0-litre petrol engine. With a speed of 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds, 40i’s brother 50i double-cycle 4.4-liter V8’den 462 hp will offer 650 Nm of torque. It will take 5.2 seconds for this model to reach 100 km/h.
As standard, the xDrive comes with a four-wheel drive system, only 8-speed automatic transmission will be available. The Dynamic Handling Package and the Off-Road Package in the 50i come as optional, while the locked rear differential is standard in this model. The air suspension with adaptive shock absorbers in the front and rear is also included in the standard equipment list.
The 50i will not come to Europe, but it will offer two diesel options, 30d and M50d. The M50d, with its four turbo support, will bring these figures to 400 hp and 760 Nm, while the 30d, 265 hp and 620 Nm from the 3.0 engine with 6 cylinders.
The X7’s cabin is airy and luxurious. The console design used by BMW in its current models dominates the 12.3-inch digital display panel and the 13.3-inch information Entertainment System screen. The gear console includes suspension height, driving mode, gear lever and iDrive control. As standard, the four-zone automatic air conditioning system in the X7’da region number to 5 air conditioning system is in the option list. The luxury SUV, which offers a three-piece glass roof on all X7s, can also be purchased in six seats on request.
The two-piece tailgate opens and closes electrically. Thanks to the air suspension, the rear part of the X6 is lowered to facilitate the loading process. Under normal conditions, the luggage volume is 1376 litres, and all seats are folded to 2560 litres.
the xDrive40i comes standard with Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, rear collision warning, pedestrian detection, Urban braking support, Cross-rear traffic warning and traffic plate detection. in addition to this, the xDrive50i also features Parking Assistant Plus, Active Lane tracking assistant and Advanced Traffic Jam Assistant.
