Arteon’s new 2.0 TSI engine produces 272 horsepower.
At the moment, Arteon is the most expensive vehicle among Volkswagen’s passenger cars. This stylish design sports sedan, which we can describe as a competitor to the Audi A5 Sportback, now has two engine options. These were 150 horsepower 1.5 TSI units and 240 horsepower 2.0 TDI units. Even the 2.0 TDI engine was able to drive the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h in around 6 seconds. However, Volkswagen has added the new 2.0 TSI engine with 272 horsepower to the vehicle, thinking there may be more users waiting for more performance than Arteon.
4-cylinder, turbocharged and gasoline 2.0 TSI unit, Volkswagen Golf R etc. we’ve seen it before in vehicles with 300 horsepower. In Arteon, this engine produces 272 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, as we have stated. The seven-speed DSG transmission with the engine and the four-wheel drive system are standard. In this way, Arteon will now be able to complete a speed of 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, while it will reach a maximum speed of 250 km/h. This speed is of course the maximum speed set with the electronic limit. Otherwise, it will not be difficult for Arteon to reach a high speed of 300 km/h.
Although Arteon’s new 2.0 TSI engine brings high performance, it has also been successfully developed in terms of efficiency. According to Volkswagen, with this engine, Arteon has an appropriate average consumption value of 7 litres / 100 km. CO2 emissions are also 160 g / km.
Extra mechanical components, such as the performance engine and the four-wheel drive system, do not cause any reduction in the interior volume of the Arteon. In other words, the luggage volume of all Arteon’s is 563 liters in standard format and 1.557 liters when the seats are deposited. These figures show that the car is extremely useful. The new 2.0 TSI engine will be available in both Elegance and R-Line Equipment.
